IDEAS has worked extensively in many parts of the world. Heart-rending situations abound in two parts of the world in particular in which we work – India and South East Asia. As we work extensively in Mumbai, India, we have been honoured to have supported two charitable institutions. We have also supported two extremely worthwhile causes in Cambodia.
CAMBODIA
Very few people can travel through Cambodia without having their heart ripped out by the madness of the genocidal years of the mid-late 1970’s. It is impossible not to want to do something – something that can make a difference. Thus, IDEAS has supported two worthy institutions – one in Pnomh Penh, the other in Siem Riep. If you would also like to support these worthwhile causes, please contact the causes directly through their respective web links. Thank You!
Angkor Hospital for Children – Center for Friends Without A Border
This is a marvellous institution, helping children who would not have access to medical care and attention otherwise – since Cambodia, despite marvellous efforts and progress in recent years, is still an impoverished country due to the terrible destruction imposed during the cruel nonsensical regime of the mid-late 1970’s.

Recent drives to expand beyond Siem Riep into other countryside regions are warmly welcomed, taking medical aid to children into the far reaches of Cambodia – children who simply cannot travel to Siem Riep for whatever reason.

FRIENDS the Restaurant

IDEAS admires hard work, drive and commitment, and this worthy institution exudes such attributes. Training and work programmes are run to help street children and youths – and their communities – to become useful contributory members of society through work. The value of work is two-fold :- in the first instance people are able to generate worthy revenue, and in the second instance people have a sense of worth and belonging.

INDIA
IDEAS has been working in Mumbai, one of the world’s most densely populated cities, since mid 2007. The poverty surrounding millions of the city’s people is overwhelming. At best, people have cardboard and a square of corrugated iron for a roof; at worst – nothing.

Whilst we try to do something at street-level, this is often not possible due to work commitments. Thus, we have supported two worthy institutions for some time now – The Indian Council for Mental Health and G.O.D.S. MBA Foundation.
G.O.D.S. MBA FOUNDATION

As stated above with respect to FRIENDS in Pnomh Penh, Cambodia, IDEAS admires hard work, drive and commitment. G.O.D.S. trains and encourages physically and mentally challenged people to train in order to work for a living. Apart from the self-satisfaction which arises from this, G.O.D.S. people reduce pre-conceived barriers in many cases – clearly demonstrating that they are more than capable of providing worthwhile service to the community at large – which further enhances their reward, self-satisfaction and personal development.

Indian Council for Mental Health
You could imagine that, if ‘ordinary’ / ‘normal’ children struggle in street-level Mumbai, then mentally challenged children have very little hope indeed. This worthy organisation helps such children through qualified teachers helping with learning, constructive play and self-help insofar as this is possible.
